(Cefnfedw Golden Glory x Friars Sally)
11.3hh. Welsh Mountain Pony Stallion. Bay with Black points
Imported from Wales in 1991 as a foal, William has, in a very short period
of time, shown how important it is to have a stallion with presence.
William is an extremely kind and gentle stallion, who runs out with
his mares or covers in hand. He is renowned in reproducing his wonderful
refined length of rein, gorgeous Welshy head and eye, and fabulous movement.
You can, in fact, spot a William foal a mile away!
Although not heavily shown in hand himself, he has nevertheless made
his mark, winning many championships and awards around Ontario and has
subsequently developed a well deserved reputation in producing winning
youngstock at major shows internationally.
For the last three years William has been high point breeding stallion
in Ontario. His foals for the past five years have virtually swept
the breeding classes at the Royal Winter Fair. Some of his sons and
daughters are:
- Brookside Starry Knight,
unbeaten while at Brookside. Now standing at Mary Alice Willams'
Madoc Stud, Texas, USA.
- Brookside
Megastar, 1998 Canadian National Exhibition and Royal Winter Fair Grand
Champion Stallion as a yearling and winner of the same championship as a
two-year-old in 1999. Now standing at Richard and Wendy Staub's farm in
Ohio.
- Brookside Star Witness, retained by the stud
and winner of the William Jones Memorial Trophy at the Royal plus many other
Championships and Supremes, now standing at stud on loan to Dan Atherton in
Michigan, USA.
- Brookside
Song of Dafydd, virtually unbeaten in all classes shown
in her division. Retained by Brookside.
- Brookside Solo, another good son
of William's out of B. Serenade, a multi-champion in Canada and the US.
- Brookside Chickadee, Futurity Supreme and
many time Champion, now winning ribbons in combined driving for Elizabeth
Lemke, Tennessee, USA.
- Brookside Starbuster, Retained by Brookside.
