A very kind and sensitive pony with a beautiful head and eye known for his extravagant action and wonderful temperament which he consistently seems to pass on to his offspring, he has become well sought-after for breeding programs and in the performance world to produce hunter ponies.

His grand-sire, Longnewton Maestro won the famous Royal Welsh Mountain and Moorland under saddle class... 3 times! These classes sometimes hold up to, and beyond, 55 entries.  Maestro's sire needs no introduction being the infamous Keston Royal Occasion.  Well known for his consistent production of under saddle winners and up-to-size Welsh section 'B' ponies.

Duntarvie Crusader, D.J's sire, has also won medals under saddle and has subsequently been the sire of many similar champions on the flat and in working hunter classes in G. B. Several related siblings to D.J have been retained at the Duntarvie stud breeding purposes, as sadly D.J's dam Longnewton Sundance, who was out of the very lovely mare Downland Demoiselle, recently had to be put down.  So D.J is indeed irreplaceable in all accounts.

Although D.J. no longer is shown in hand, he has in his time been champion at all the major shows, including The Canadian National Exhibition and many times grand champion at the Royal Winter Fair and Supreme.  Some of his many well known champion offspring residing in the US include:  Brookside Pink Magnolia, Mariposa, Baccardi, and Brigadier, residing in Virginia.  Brookside Bacchus in Texas.  Brookside Pink Martini in Massachusetts.
