Brookside Sun n' Sand
1995 Welsh Mountain Pony
In foal to Brookside Star Witness for a 2012 foal
Sun n' Sand, affectionately called 'Fatty', was the very last foal sired by the well known Imported (imported in utero) palomino stallion Findeln Sand Dollar, who was 32 at the time of breeding her dam Sunflower, natural cover. The breeding was a gift from Sandy's dear friend Tommy Jay, who had been the stud groom for Findeln Stud for many years, and had been given Sandollar when Nancy Benitz (now Bedford) moved to Massachusetts. Sand Dollar bred some lovely section A's for The Findeln Stud and for Anita Neilson of the Snow Pony Stud, as well as several lovely partbreds including 'All that Glitters' and 'Sandbunny'. Fatty has produced some lovely foals for us over the years, and was not shown until 2010. Where at the age of 15 she was taken to two shows, and was Champion at the first behind barn mate Brookside Song of Dafydd and Reserve Champion behind her mother Friars Sunflower.
